DISABILITY CONSULTING
Like many people with disabilities, I have had to be an advocate my entire life. Now I can be an advocate for others.
Despite being the largest minority group, making up 26% of the population, only 1% of people working in the entertainment and advertising industries have disabilities, both behind and on camera. Time and again we see amazing results from more inclusive content. Being inclusive of disabilities is no different. Disability representation, when done equitably, is a win, win, win.
My passion is helping storytellers integrate equitable disability representation into their content, from social media to cinema, and everything in-between.
CLIENTS
Social Media & Marketing - Disability Representation
I work with this top tech company to integrate equitable disability representation into their content.
CHRISTOPHER HOPPER
Bestselling Author - Disability Representation
Christopher is a best-selling science fiction author with more than two dozen titles to his name. His most recent work envisions a futuristic empire that actively discriminates against its disabled citizens. The story’s heroes must not only fight systematic evil but dare to dream what a renewed society built around the needs of all will look like. My work with him is refining the narrative to be accurate and equitable with its disability representation and themes.
Strategies for Disability Inclusion - in front and behind camera
I work with them to develop strategies for inclusion from incorporating disability language into their DEIA statements and policies, to providing opportunities for productions to have access to disability representation consulting, to providing a pathway for productions to be disability inclusive with tools and resources for providing accommodations.
FLITE TEST
YouTube Influencer - Disability Representation
As the showrunner and on-camera talent at Flite Test I implemented a content strategy that integrated my own personal stories of disability. The company's leadership had been uncomfortable with the idea but after some experimentation, it proved to be highly effective. By tying my own personal disability story into the content, we saw dramatic increases in viewership, engagement, and community.
